LIVING WITH A LONG-TERM CONDITION

Counseling Session Discussion

How can
I help?

Alongside my professional experience supporting emotional wellbeing, I have lived with type 1 diabetes for many years and understand the realities of managing a long-term condition alongside education, work, relationships and sport.

Living with a long-term condition can bring challenges that extend far beyond the physical symptoms. It is common to experience frustration, uncertainty, worry, loss of confidence or feelings of being different from those around you.

My aim is to provide a supportive and practical space where individuals can explore the emotional impact of their condition and develop strategies to live well whilst pursuing the things that matter most to them.

Challenges I support with:

  • Adjusting to a new diagnosis and understanding acceptance

  • Overcoming challenges and working towards goals

  • Anxiety about health

  • Feeling different from others

  • Managing school, university or work

  • Confidence and independence

  • Frustration, anger and emotional impact

  • Participation in sport and physical activity

  • Coping with uncertainty

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, identify what may be maintaining distress or preventing you from moving forward, and develop practical strategies to help you live well alongside your condition.

My aim is not to focus solely on the condition itself, but to support you in building confidence, resilience and a fulfilling life that reflects what matters most to you.
